Re Private tutor for Wife and step daughter in Scotland (fake job)

There is a whole thread on this site about this same letter/scam but from Japanese named oncologists! Asking for ESL professional teachers as live in immersion teachers...I turned one off down(it had come from a normal ESL job board referral) and then got the exact same letter with the same children and wife names but just a different "doctor"!! a week or so later.
Scary.

Private tutor for Wife and step daughter in Scotland (fake job)

I received an offer from a person using the name Dr. Anders Logran. He was supposedly a cardioligist in Aberdeen and wanted a tutor for his wife and step-daughter who were from Vietnam. After I tried to get answers from his supposed attorney, George Scott, who would not answer any questions. He would just say he could not answer them until I signed the contract and sent it. It was a contract that he had drawn up for the good Dr. Really raised a red flag. They did not ask for any money. The clincher after I told them I would not come to the UK and that I thought it was a scam, the Dr. contacted me and tried to assure me it was not a scam. Then he confirmed my suspicions by asking me to accept a check for him from an American company, keep an amount of it, and send him the remainder. That is the oldest scam in the world. As a matter of fact, 2 people were on the news here today who had fallen for this same scam with the check and one had lost $1900 when the check was a bad check. So, if you get anything like this, do not respond. Definitely never send anyone any money. If they are legitimate, no one will ask you to send money for anything.
