I worked for CF Education Center known to us as CF English as a part time teacher.
I was very selective of who I work for as I have had some dodgy experiences with some second grade schools.
However I had known the director personally before agreeing to work with them.
The job started with the director and one of the owners taking me out for coffee and discuss the terms.
Off the bat they offered me an attractive working wage and I decided to give it a shot as they seemed pretty decent.
My first work with them was just basically promotional work. Work wouldn't be the best word to use as the assistant did almost all the work and all I had to do was go along and entertain the children.
I did only work with them part time and I'm sure there are much better teachers for young learners but my 'assistant' really made it a breeze for me.
I continued working there part time for the majority of the year and they did more than just pay me well, when I needed assistance with basic stuff in China they were quick to help.
It was easily the best job I ever had and if I was staying in China I would sign on with them as a full time teacher in a heartbeat. However clean air for my baby is priority so off to Korea we go.
In terms of facilities just to give you an idea, they use smart boards in the classrooms and have a free espresso machine you can use as much as you like. I don't know about other teachers but I have never had this, even with well established franchises like Berlitz in Germany the closest I ever got was instant coffe for self service.
The director was easily the most genuine, good and honest person I have known here in China. I have only known one other person of her caliber in China and I can tell you it's incredibly rare.
In my experience having a good boss makes for a good teaching and living experience.
I can't sing their praises highly enough but can say I didn't have one bad experience with them. It's a new school with new facilities and fresh management. I know they have just upgraded their teaching material which was already top class.
To any teacher who has an opportunity to teach with them - jump! You would be hard pressed to find a better school. To be honest I'm not sure if there is a better school, it's hard to imagine.
Thanks guys at CF for being a shining light in what was was a rather dull and grim experience in China.
All the best
