In response to Re ELIC Christian group in Chinese Universities (Former FT in China)
There are many FTs in China that are missionaries. All are members of congregations at home and some are subsidized by their congregations.
Although technically illegal, many universities tolerate discrete proselytizing by their FTs. I have had Deans and FAO managers tell me that they prefer missionary activity to the drinking and student dating of their other FTs. Many FAOs prefer couples for the same reason, so husband and wife missionary teams at the same university are also common.
As many Chinese return from a Western University education, the Chinese Foreign Language teaching staff now has their own missionaries.
