No, Turnoi. Nobody is suggesting you use numbers instead of diacritica... People are suggesting numbers can be used in place of diacritica. Both are OK and both are understood. If you are writing in pinyin and you don't have a function on your computer to use tonal indicators, then you can use numbers and everyone knows what you mean. Seriously, a ten year old could fathom the difference.
And no, none of the links you supplied use numbers, colour me shocked, but other posters have provided links to translators that use numbers, you appear to be suffering from selective blindness again.
You are the only person trying to make something more of this than there needs be, and that's only because you're trying to save face at having got it so glaring wrong from the get go with regards to who said it in the first place and that you couldn't use numbers.
