Here is the truth about Nanshan Chinese International College or Shenzhen Nanshan Bilingual School!
The school has changed its name because the scam management of this "international school" is trying to hide the six years mistreating foreign teachers history!
Let’s just have a look at the last two academic years in CIE centre in Nanshan Chinese International College.
The school employed at the beginning of 2012/2013 academic year the following teachers:
1. Department: Math; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2013 academic year: his contract was not extended by NCIC.
2. Department: Math; Nationality: Canada; Gender: male; Status by the end of academic year in 2013: he refused to extend his contract with NCIC and he got a job at a competing school in the same city. (Very smart move!)
3. Department: Chemistry/Biology; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: female; Status by the end of 2013: she refused to extend her contract with NCIC and she went back to her country of origin.
4. Department: Economics/Business; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: female; Status by the end of 2013 academic year: she refused to extend her contract with NCIC and she went to another school.
5. Department: Economics/Business; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2013 academic year: he did not have a valid contract, stopped working after first semester in 2012. (He was not a qualified teacher)
6. Department: Physics; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2013 academic year: his contract was extended (he was nearly 70 years old at that time; not many choices for shopping around at this age, isn’t it?!).
Conclusion 1: FIVE out of SIX foreign teachers have left CIE Center of Nanshan Chinese International College. It makes 83.3% staff turnover!!
The school employed at the beginning of 2013/2014 academic year the following teachers:
1. Department: Math; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: female; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: her contract would be extended but she decided to leave NCIC.
2. Department: Math; Nationality: France; Gender: male; Status by the end 2014 academic year: he was unfairly dismissed by Youcef Ahmed Said, NCIC academic director in December 2013, during the second term of 2013/2014 academic year (He won the first hearing at the Chinese Labor Court! NCIC has appealed a few weeks ago so a lawsuit against NCIC is still in progress.)
3. Department: Chemistry/Biology; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: he refused to extend his contract with NCIC and he got a job at another country.
4. Department: Economics/Business; Nationality: Canada; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: he was dismissed after his probation period by Youcef Ahmed Said and Tim Simpson in November 2013.
5. Department: Economics/Business; Naionality: New Zealand Gender: male; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: he was unfairly dismissed in February 2014 by academic director Youcef Ahmed Said and HR Manager Tina Tong (He won the first hearing at the Chinese Labor Court! NCIC has appealed a few weeks ago so a lawsuit against NCIC is still in progress.)
6. Department: Physics; Nationality: the U.K.; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: he left school due to health problems (he was just about 70 years old at that time!)
7. Department: English; Nationality: Hong Kong; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: he left NCIC before the end of the academic year.
8. Department: English; Nationality: Irish; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: his contract was extended (he is married to Chinese, he couldn’t really go far with his Chinese children and “bubble houses”).
9. Department: English; Nationality: the U.S.A.; Gender: male; Status by the end of 2014 academic year: Youcef Ahmed Said, academic director of NCIC, refused to extend his contract without any given reason.
Conclusion 2: EIGHT out of NINE foreign teachers have left Nanshan Chinese International College. It makes 88.88% staff turnover!! What a lucky number!
Conclusion 3, you should be able to make up yourself by looking at the statistics of this “International College”.
P.S. The illegal employment of unqualified “substitute teachers” which did not start at the beginning of the academic year, and “students teaching students”, “teachers” opinion were not taken into account.
Further to mention about a couple of Philippine teachers who were not taken into the account also as they get 10-20 times less pay than teachers from Canada or the U.K. for instance in their home country. So they can’t say much and they are in a biased situation. Nevertheless one of Philippine well educated ladies was badly mistreated by this management team of scam artists after she had delivered an honest, hardworking teaching.
P.P.S. A research indicates that at least nine out of ten students are NOT HAPPY at Nanshan Chinese International College and the most of students do NOT have plans to return to this “International School”.
