I have said it the past that whichever school or company you have signed up with should send you a

Letter of Invitation
to you while you are still in your country of origin. The letter should have a certified stamp at the bottom showing the legitimacy of the school or company. There should also be a signature, one that is hand written by an authority figure within the school or company. You had best get them to send you the letter by a decent courier. If not that then use a fax machine. Do not ask them to send it by email and then print it out, it will stand a good chance of being rejected by the Chinese Consulate if you do this. Bring the Letter of Invitation to the Consulate along with your Physical Health Check Form, Background Check Form, 2 Color Photocopies of your Passport, at least 3 color photos of the appropriate size, a Money Order of the appropriate amount, and a completed Visa Application Form. If done correctly you should be able to get a Z Visa which has a Validity Period of "000" next to the "Duration of Stay" along with exactly 1 entry allowed. You have exactly 30 days from time of entry into Mainland China to obtain a Resident Permit which is the 2nd sticker that they will put into your passport. When they do this the Z Visa is automatically voided and you will see a black marker on the Z Visa showing that it has been crossed out as a valid visa. Your school or company also needs to apply for a Foreign Experts Certificate which is a separate booklet that is about the same size as a passport. You need to have both the RE and the FEC to work legally in China. You will be in the computer system in your local Foreign Experts Bureau. You will have to return the Foreign Experts Certificate Booklet after you leave the job permanently. If you finish your contract or terminate your contract early you will need a Letter Of Recommendation from your former employer in order to work elsewhere in the country. This is the most updated information.

I have sent you emails in the past regarding this. There have also been many posts on this topic on this forum as well as other forums. You'd best save this information. Maybe create a template with a microsoft office application and save it in a secure folder on your computer and maybe also on a usb flash drive. If you are working on an F Visa you are skating on thin ice. You had said in an earlier post that you cannot get a letter of release from your previous employer. There may not be much you can do about it if you didn't get a Foreign Experts Certificate from them, as you are not in the computer system.
