Huaihua is my wife's hometown. Her family, all doctors (as is my wife) still live there. We own an apartment there and spend 6 months each year living in Huaihua. I know the city very, very well. The report on the school is BS. I know the owner. She is the daughter of my mother-in-laws best friend and a lovely lady who works very hard. As for motorcycle gangs in Huaihua that is also bullshit. As a former senior police officer I know all about motorcycle gangs. There ain't any in Huaihua. Why you wrote all this crap is beyond me.

Your post is so poorly written it is hard to take it seriously.

Take for instance the quote above, did you work for them and hence have first-hand knowledge
of the situation, or were you fortunate to have contacted people before having accepted
a position there?

Does that really matter. Splitting hairs it seems to me. We get the gist of it.

I also disagree with your opinion about the writing style. It's written just fine and seems plausible. It's one person's opinion, anyway, just let the guy have his say.

AVOID: DECEPTION, THEFT, FT ABUSE.

Do not EVER work for this appalling place, which amazingly has a foreign experts permit (obtained dishonestly from SAFEA no doubt).

I worked there a while back and am fortunate enough to have been able to contact several past employees who worked there. The following is confirmed:

- Accommodation is a tiny office next to the classrooms. Expect no privacy or good sleep on your squeaky wooden bed (without mattress) due to the 20 classrooms full of screaming kids right next to you and the loudhailers positioned above the door. Accommodation entered without FT permission (once while the FT was still asleep) and gossip spread. Room searched. No kitchen. Water supply constantly interrupted.

- FT promised 5000 per month, then cut to 3000 which is always paid late with any complaints resulting in deportation threats. (For newbies, 3000 yuan is just about enough to buy food.)

- Staff gossip about FTs all the time and Chinese friends called behind FTs back. Chinese staff rejected FTs friendly advances and instead turned on him.

- The school owner has borrowed herself into oblivion and there was a ban on FTs from going out due to motorcycle gangs roaming the local area (possibly related to the debt owed by the owner. )

And the list goes on. One former FT told me he felt suicidal for a number of months before leaving.

Please spread this around the net before someone really can't hold on anymore.
