One of the many. - 2018-09-03

Big warning to anybody applying in response to the advertisements that are constantly being posted for this institute. It has an obscene teacher retention/ tunover rate. People come and go from this place often staying for no more than a few weeks. Some depart after a few days-having experienced the slum-like housing conditions. Others make it to the end of the first/ 2nd month, when they are fired on the whim of the Director, Seng. Some have made it through the probation [3 months] only to then disappear come pay day. Working 6 days a week, teaching between 28-36 hours is clearly more than can be tolerated long term! The contract offers 10 days paid holiday during the course of the year-you will never get this because Seng will take days off during the xmas/ water festival breaks when the school is closed! The contract states that the teacher is entitled to 5 days sick leave per year. If any of these are actually taken this will be a big black mark held against you! Indeed Seng will dispatch his minions to visit the accommodation and check on the teacher's condition. The teacher's room is under surveillance by Seng, as are emails sent from the school. This is not a big outfit-more a 'mom and pop' affair akin to a Korean hogwan. And, in just over one year, the school has been through 10+ teachers who have either been dismissed or run away from this establishment.
