SCHOOLS AND RECRUITERS REVIEWS

approach this school with some caution.

My experience in applying was a recruiter who plays cards very close to his chest while attempting to persuade the forwarding of personal information such as copies of documents via email to a non-company / non-school email address.

The contract for employment that I was sent well in advance (quite a surprising move I thought) had a major RED FLAG aspect of a probation period where it was stated they are entitled to terminate the contract after an initial 4 week period without paying the employee. In 2018, in China, this surely is illegal.

I imagine this 4 week period would be therefore used as a buffer before processing a visa, which IS VERY illegal and if you agree to that you are risking jail for being an illegal teacher.

The information provided concerning a work visa sounded like either the recruiter (who was a British person) did not know what he was talking about or the school was not entirely squeaky clean. Probably both.

The recruiter finally buckled under pressure when close to starting the job, specific questions were asked that an experienced person working in a school would know the answers to and not take any offence.

Do your due diligence on this place if you agree to take up a position.
