Re ADVETI / IAT The UAE

All true... in fact you have missed out a bunch! ADVETI or IAT are beyond words when it come to bad management and terrible students. I was there for three years and saw nothing but lies, upset, blaming and more lies. I hated working for this company and I hated the total lack of respect and common manners that I faced daily from the management and the students. If offered a position with ADVETI say no!

Re ADVETI / IAT The UAE

Hi,

I will be honest and as objective as I can. I have been in the employment of ADVETI for a number of years. It is a terrible company and is getting worse as each month and year passes. For the past year we have been following a new English foundation curriculum that simply doesn't work. It does not address any English skills, the work load is totally unmanageable and the so called curriculum development team is desperate to pin the failure of this wrecking ball of a curriculum on the English teachers. The management is totally haphazard and has no idea what the hell is happening with the programme. The students are the worst people, let alone students you will ever meet. They are lazy, lying, crooked, and basically stupid people.

As for your contract and treatment by the managers. You will be lied to and lied about from day one. Do not expect anything promised in your contract without a fight. Even if you do demand what was promised you will be reported and your name put on a black list for future scrutiny. The contract you will sign is not worth the paper it is written on. The contract will be preceded by the teacher handbook. In short no matter what is in the contract the management can dodge it by pointing back to the handbook. You will not receive payment for your visas, housing education or reimbursement of any kind.

If I could rewind time, I would not have accepted a position with this company. You will not like it here and most staff leave or are fired inside of 12 months. Sorry to sound like I am raining on your parade, but that is my and other teachers honest opinion of ADVETI, IAT.

Do not accept a job here.

Hi,

I wanted to speak to you about your experience at ADVETI. I am contemplating being put forward for interview and wanted to speak to someone who has worked there.

Thanks

It's worse than you could possibly describe.

They got me to UAE on lies, fed me lies the entire time I was there, then didn't pay me for the month I already worked! On top of that there is the SARS virus rife there (that's a killer) and the abominable spoilt students and working conditions

I was glad to get out of UAE with my life intact and the clothes on my back - ALIVE! If your Indian or otherwise foreign, then yeah, the pay is great, you'll probably stay here for good... if your western and expect basic rights and standards....

I totally agree with you! ADVETI is the worst company ever, period! The management is atrocious, the students are the worst I have ever taught, the culture is built on lies and more lies and westerners or anyone who is not Emirati is treated as little more than a whipping boy! Stay clear of this company! Seriously, if offered a position with ADVETI, do not take it!!

Absolutely every word is true. I went to Adveti knowing absolutely nothing about the company and boy did I get a shock. They tell you lies upon lies and muck you about like nobodies business. Kids are monsters from hell who think they have all the rights. They're also all as thick as mince with no brain cells between the ears. The boys are literally like animals whilst the girls are just bitches. It's an absolutely horrendous place to work in with no support whatsoever from the management. Stalin's right hand women Rashida is anything but professional.

The job will drain you, rob you of any passion you have for teaching and leave you for dead.

Don't do it, it's absolutely not worth it, they won;t keep any of their promises and make your life miserable.

Absolutely true. You get treated with a total lack of respect and consideration. Nobody above you (management) or below you (students) is worth working for. Student behaviour is appalling, but it will not change. There is a culture of lying, cheating and scamming. If you value your integrity, steer well clear of this organisation.

ADVETI / IAT The UAE

How can I truly express my thoughts and experiences when it comes to my time working for ADVETI and IAT? To paraphrase a paraphrase, I think it was Robert Oppenheimer who put it best, I am become death, the destroyer of worlds. Now, replace the word 'worlds' with passion, drive, creativity and professionalism and you are more or less hitting the nail on the head. This company will drain you, it will make you feel as though you are burning at your lowest ebb and then some! The students are a nightmare in human form, the working conditions and total lack of preparation time have left many a good teacher in tears, and the absence of any empathy or compassion from the management bares all the hall marks of a serial killer in the making. The teachers, (not all I hasten to add) are a curious mix of fucktards and social miss-fits, forced through the mincer and mixed together with a large pinch of salt and a slug of cheap imported wine. There is no real bond or sense of acceptance, they are a fractured group of no-marks, too sad to survive back in their home countries and too jaded to try their hand at anything else. The majority of them are the type of kids I used to beat the living daylights out of whilst I was a nipper back in my school days. I often find myself thinking, 'Should I start taking their lunch money?' This place is the pits and the thing is it could be a TEFL paradise, if only the lunatics handed back the asylum.
