Canadian Way Language Institute is located in Shantou China. It is a small school and soon they will be hiring a foreign teacher. This school was a big disappointment to me when I worked there and I feel compelled to warn everyone about it. I thought I had put everything in my contract to ensure that I had a good experience at this school, but unfortunately this was not the case.

The hours will be split up and run all day long from 9am until 9-10pm at night. Time off or vacation time is not their concern and if you have it in your contract they will count vacation days even when the school is closed on Monday. Your days off will not be counted as time off so your time to rest is reduced to however the Chinese owner decides to manipulate it.

Manipulating and controlling your life is the way at this school and if you are smart you will avoid it at all costs. You will teach all the classes that the Canadian owner does not want to teach and be expected to do a lot of extra work that they label as Admin. time.

They sell a good dream as telling you that they have a unique way of teaching. This is not true. They are doing what every other education mill out there is doing - so be prepared to be disappointed.
