Re GRA KOREA Volunteer Camp Program in Malaysia and Singapore / GCAMP / www.grakorea.co.kr

Gail,

I am sorry for your loss... That this company treated you very badly.. It even happen to me when I was with this cam back in january 2015 for their winter camp as well.. This company always have this favoritism and more towards women than men, It was hard for me to get my point across regarding work because I was dealing with persons very young with authority figure.. I would never trust this company again

Re GRA KOREA Volunteer Camp Program in Malaysia and Singapore / GCAMP / www.grakorea.co.kr

To every Applicant that Applies for a position like this, You have to be warned This company GRA- Gabriel Recruitment Agency Korea have posted positions for a 4 week volunteer position for a summer camp and winter camp positions in Malaysia and Singapore.. This add is posted on Craigslist from time to time and I have to be honest with you all its a BIG SCAM and I myself also with a few other teachers got scammed with this teaching position..

This position was never mentioned in a Craigslist Add if its for a 4 week or a 2 week program for a ESL Volunteer teacher.. Its states that each teacher will get as pocket money a total of $400 SGD, and $600 SGD for reimbursement for flight tickets that have already been purchased by the applicant or you have the other option this company will pay for your flight to Singapore but afterwards to head to malaysia you are on your own on that. BECAREFUL of seeing job adds like this its too good too be true...

I flew to Malaysia from Vietnam Hoh CHI MINH city at my own expense on 7/21/15 after receiving a confirmation from their website www.grakorea.co.kr/ and info through my email and I was very happy about it but honestly no details at all about what would i be doing and what is the process. When I got to malaysia in Lotus Desaru resort, I ended up paying over $100 USD from Singapore to Malaysia just to get there and here is where the nightmare started. There is no training at all for new teachers like myself and others, This company GRA KOREA that runs GCAMP hires just about anyone to teach out of desperation and tells them to lie to the students about their teaching experience. The accommodations were not nice where I stayed at Lotus because the wifi didnot work all of the time here.

So during my time here I was given all of the wrong information by the korean staff ( Wang Sub Shim) -AKA DANIEL SHIM and MR JISUN KIM on what was the program all about how many students and how was everything set up. they never gave me a straight answer, they always changed their schedules in 5 minutes and teachers are caught off guard. I had absolutely no idea what was going on and it was stressing me out. These koreans made us foreign teachers test the students based on a piece of paper that had no structure to it and the computers were old and broken and also they were taking pictures through out the camp for more advertising..

The camp has no curriculum at all for the basis for the kids. The korean staff treated me terribly there were times that I could not even eat at night because they were just calling all of us teachers at the last minute for classroom activity.

Classrooms were in the resort areas from jasmine 1, 2, 3 and also in Lily 1,2,3 not cleaned at all every day and many teachers were getting sick at Lotus desaru because of the food that was prepared from Breakfast -Dinner was not cooked thoroughly.

So at the end of the camp this was very sad for me I never got reimbursed for my flight ticket that I bought originally from Vietnam to Singapore for 7/21 and I was given an envelope with only $300SGD with a thank you on it for my work.. and I was promised a return flight ticket back to Vietnam and when I checked my email on 8/21 after the camp kids left for Korea I got no email at all with my return flight for Vietnam and I ended up calling my family to ask for money to go home..

beware and fair warning to all who will apply on Craigslist... this job is a scam.... a Job like this for a ESL Volunteer position is too good to be true and be care ful everyone when applying for a job like this Through GRA KOREA...

Gail,

yes, we know how you feel and we are there for u too.. Even us too we got screwed over by GRA KOREA- for their GCAMP English fun and learn camp too... we need to spread the news out there to tell people that this amazing opportunity is a scam and for the koreans its all about the money not the customers which are the 29 children that flew from Korea to Singapore...

These korean always buys us drinks every day and they only focused on themselves and making money now about the children at the camp.. I heard that the other teachers didnot even got a reimbursement in their airfare, even mee too I did not get paid at all and I had to stay in a $15SGD a night hostel that was really terrible and I had nothing to eat at all..

Lets spread the news to let people know that to watch out..

BE Aware: and DO NOT TRUST GRA KOREA AT ALL: THIS CAMPS NAME IS GCAMP and their website address is: www.grakorea.co.kr/ I ended up getting scammed by this company for a ESl Summer camp position that was not true because they were not very honest in what they were telling the teachers about their 2 week and 4 week program. This summer camp for ESL was located in Desaru Malaysia and in Singapore. The details are too good to be true. I was told by this Evelyn person that I would be at the camp for 4 weeks and then all of the sudden when I arrived at the camp which it was held in Lotus Desaru Malaysia that I would only be there for two weeks and I was caught off guard. I was only given $200 usd in cash at the end of the program by a Mr Daniel Shim and Mr Jisun KIM and I was promised a ticket to go back to my country and I was not even given one and I was stuck in Singapore with no place to go..

This company promises to even give reimbursement to teachers for their flights up to $600 SGD and nothing happens at all with that, plus pocket money of $400SGD which its not much for a ESL camp like this and most teachers here got screwed over already especially J, M, D, G, and S, A, F, F [names edited]... most of these guys got paid by GRA KOREA less than $200 USD

This company is not good, The staff are a Korean and South african and They changed things on you at the last minute with out any reason and They will put an add on Craigslist for Winter camp and Summer camp to make anyone believe that this opportunity is a good one..but its not..

... This is what someone told me about this camp on skype and I would like to share it with everyone..

The lied and cheated me out of a plane ticket and I have been stuck in Singapore and probably found a solution. I will blacklist them when I have time. What horrible people and living with E[edited] was a nightmare. I trusted E[edited] and was told one month but once I arrived told less than two weeks. D[edited] was crazy and left a message when he went to Singapore and could not write. The other teacher I cannot remember his name was a drunk. I had never encountered such horrible low lives. I will be careful in the future not to accept a ramdom job.
