I have recently interviewed and been offered a job through Best Learning. I would love to hear more about your experience. The only other negative review I read was in 2013. Best Learning did not have the proper permits to have this organization. I was hoping that since then they would have acquired the proper permits. Your post looks like it was just last December that you had this experience. You could e-mail me any time. Love to hear your thoughts.

WARNING DO NOT WORK FOR BEST LEARNING!!! Best Learning is a TERRIBLE company ! I worked there for a year . They then fired me with 6 days left of my contract so they did not have to pay my bonus money. They are also doing it to another girl at the centre so don't think for a second they will not do it over and over again. I was a teacher in the states and am very experienced. I really cared about my job. EVERYONE is miserable who works in the shanghai office and are looking for new work. It is a ILLEGAL company and there have been raids by the police! White people are being ARRESTED and one teacher was DEPORTED!!!! Employees are harassed and treated unfairly! The company does not care about the children. I literally had my vice principle tell me she did not care about the kids only the money! I would be happy to provide anyone with further information. It is a disgusting company! There are so many jobs in china! Don't make the mistake by spending your gap year working and being miserable!

I am compelled to reply to Whistle Blowers rather extreme accusations.

By throwing out some names and supposedly specific instances up to and including "quotes" he/she seems to be trying to compel the reader into believing the posts truth in full. Curiously though is the fact that nowhere in the post does he/she state that all or any of the supporting details of illegal practices were personally experienced. All of this was 2nd hand knowledge? -

With regards to the corporate owners stating their only goal was to make as much money as they can and then sell out out fast.... I must pose the question - Are you an idiot with no experience in the business world? Firstly what company doesn't have the goal of making all the money they can? As far as selling out, with the amount of schools they have opened and franchised being so extensive, selling out is no small matter do you really think they would even be able to "sell out" a corporation involving millions of dollars if their entire corporation were operating illegally.

- I could go on to dissect Whistle Blower's blatantly defamatory post - but I will not waste my time and can quite accurately summarize -- "it is utter and completely BS, bunk, !!!

I can't and won't speak for any of the practices by corporate Beijing schools as I will not spread 2nd hand information that I am not personally involved in.

I will speak of my personal experience and knowledge of Best Learning Dalian. I was first hired there as a teacher in 2009. Although at the time I was already living in China, the transfer of all visa and other legal documents with the government were completely legit and submitted,approved, and issued by the government with out any false pretenses or bribes. (I would assume that Whistle Blower is no longer in the country since any negative accusations of corruption by government officials is no light issue and dealt with very quickly)

My contract was pretty much standard for the industry here in China.

My pay was extremely fair at at the top for average wages paid in this local. Never had any issues with it not being paid. taxes were withdrawn at proper rate and reported.
The owner /and all management staff were very supportive, in fact above and beyond what is typically experienced in other private ESL schools.

The curriculum is quality licensed and 100% genuine printed issues from one of the biggest available and used in American schools (to note is that yes pirated editions can be easily obtained online --lol welcome to China! - but these pirated editions are not purchased, supplied, or encouraged by the school itself ).

The infrastructure/design of the schools as contractually mandated by Corporate is absolutely beautiful, modern, and uses state of the art equipment such as Smartboard® interactive whiteboards in all classes

As far as tired students all I can say is that Whistle Blower must be one very boring and p*** poor teacher if he/she experienced problems associated with the kids being overly tired on weekdays after attending a full day of public school. To us Americans it may seem ludicrous that young children attend a 1 1/2 hour English program once a week in the evening after public school and another on week-end. To that I say so American schools should discontinue all after school sports related activities, science,math and other clubs. Again Whistle Blower I must say you really lack any accurate perspective of education systems globally let alone in China.. Where attending all manner of after school programs is the norm not the exception.

All in all my personal experience as well as friends employed with Best Learning was absolutely superb.

So much so that I will be returning to Best Learning a few weeks from now.

Although I would strongly suggest to any person considering coming to China or any other country to do their homework before actually flying half way around the planet to embark on an experience that will provide lifetime memories, I can in good conscious recommend Best Learning Dalian as being an excellent choice.

If you are considering employment with Best Learning in any of it's many locations throughout China or any other private school for that matter ask for contact information of current or past foreign teachers.. most schools that are legitimate will happily provide that information.

This school is a scam: They prey upon new US graduates with very little or no work experience and offer them suposed legal visas, a salary, help with accommodation, and a move into a lucrative career in ESL Teaching. This is a contrived ploy to sucker the unaware into signing with them and coming to Beijing. Once in Beijing however...

The visas they do provide are NOT legal, you are NOT allowed to work in China, they trick you (young people, new graduates) into coming with "we will help you with a loan to get a beautiful apartment, don't worry we'll take care of you" it is a loan that will be taken back straight away leaving you with nothing from your already small and inadequate first salary and you will be asked to sign legaly binding documents that are enforcable in China that will cause you to be arrested upon breaching them, if they so choose. They pretend to offer education to Chinese Students through their parents of FULL USA Curriculum which they claim they successfully teach to non-english speaking Chinese children (young learners) in an amazing 6 hours per week AFTER they have studied all day and are tired from their own REAL school work. BEST LEARNING (Jacky, Larry and Mikey K[edited]) lie, cheat, trick, decieve, swear blind that they are legal and in the mean time are paying corrupt Police Officials to stay quiet about their illegal immigration and work/illegal company operations. Their ONLY goal is to make as much monrey as they can and sell out fast ! (Words from the horses mouth!)

If you get caught in this scam you stand the risk of arrest (highly likely!) detainment, and then deportation (at your or your familiy's expense or be jailed!). They also take 'TAX' from your salary which quite clearly as you are an illegal immigrant are not declared to the Chinese Government and so pocket it themselves.

The ownwers are called Jacky (Chinese), Larry (Chinese) and an American called Mickey K[edited] who claims to have committed crimes that he has the connections to get away with as LArry's wife knows 'Hu Jin Tao' personally. This is probably verbal diarrhoea but the simple fact that he truly believes he can get away with anything and any crime makes this Mikey K[edited] a very dangerous and pathetic [edited]. Information about Mikey K[edited]: AN extrucker who has pulled a lot of scams by his own admission and hurt people with his friends if they don't obey him. He likes to tell everyone, "Hey, this is China we don't care we can do what we want as we have the connections". Also, "Hey, this is China who cares about copyright, we'll just get all our books copied and everyone can go 'F**k' themselves, we can do whatever we want!"

I cannot confirm they have changed but why would they if what they are doing is getting away with it?

They are now ridiculing and libelling a very good teacher (who actually wasn't a teacher there but the Training Manager!), they seem to think that I am this man. I appologise to him for their stupid mistake, he is not me, not even the same sex.

I know the one they are accusing and they still owe him two months salary! So much for a reputable school... BEst Scammers perhaps?

The Whistle Blower (Am I still in touch with the decent teachers and HR at Best Learning? Who knows,only HR and the Teachers the company don't for certain! In fact they don't really know much about anything really, especially quality, honesty, integrity, or being decent people!)

When a company grows big, it may naturally have a few bad apples. C[edited] is a nightmare for any employers. C[edited] was fired by company for his misconducts( very bad) and poor teaching quality in work place in mid 2011. then this guy wrote a negative post to get even with his superior reporting line. Company will sue him in Beijing. Here are response to his accusations:
1. New teachers get fake loan: Best Learning provide loan to new teachers to help them settle down upon arrival.It is true. The loan is loan, new teachers may apply for loan or not. You cannot blame bank to loan you money, right?
2. Working visa: Best Learning has been assisting dozens of new teachers to get Z working visa so far. Best Learning will continue do so for any qualified applicant. There is no such thing as illegal working by F business visa in China to be arrested. it is never heard of in Beijing for 20 years. It is true that Z working visa has certain credentials needed to apply. It is up to new teachers to judge his qualifications to apply. Best Learning will do anything for assistance.
3. Kids are tired to attend evening class at Best Learning: This is not Best Learning issue. Parents make decision send kids to school or not. Best Learning grows at 500% per year with hundreds American teachers teach at Best Learning schools nationwide in China. It is a good thing to provide jobs for new American graduates and a chance for Chinese kids learn English from native speakers. What is wrong with that.
4 Best Learning will deal [edited] for any personal attack in court.
