Re Beijing Haina Zhicheng International ICEC: Have you ever worked or heard about this agency??

Hi Chris,

I have just received an email from Mike requesting an interview. Have you heard anything about him or the agency he works for?

Any information is welcomed,

Thanks,

Umar

Most FTs in China never use agencies. They contact the schools directly.

Every employer of FTs in China has annual turnover, usually at the end of each semester.

Some of the schools do advertise directly. Some do not.

In either event, you should choose an area in China where you want to teach. Then compile a list of employers in that area. Locate the email addresses of their Foreign Affairs department. Send an email with your resume to each of them.

All of this information is available by googling the the school names. Many lists are available on-line.

If you are credentialed, when you send 100 resumes you will probably receive a number of offers. All FAO staff are able to communicate in basic English.

Idiotic agencies often publish the names of their school clients in their advertisements, feel free to search for the contact information for that particular school and send your resume directly. Simply explain to the school you sent out many resumes to schools in the area.

All of this is actually easier to do if you are NOT in China, given the restrictions on Google here.

If you are unable to do internet searches and send emails, you shouldn't be leaving your home country.

Thanks for your reply! It's quite difficult to find a teaching position which is not advertised by one of these agencies and, after some research, I've found out that schools usually hire teachers through recruitment agencies. So the question is, which agencies are reliable??

I'm specialised in teaching Spanish as a second language, and this agency wanted to hire me to teach English despite I'm not a native speaker - that made me suspicious amongst other things.

I'd like to avoid agencies. It's hard to find ads not published by these snakes, though. I don't know where to look for a 'serious' teaching position without being treated as cattle...

From their website:
"If the school requires cancelling the contract in advance unreasonably, Chinaicec will offer another position for the foreign teacher in a short time. During this period, Chinaicec will be in charge of the teacher’s fees including the salary. However, if the foreign teacher is not satisfied with the school, he or she has to inform Chinaicec before one month and then Chinaicec will arrange another school for the teacher one month later."

This type of "agency" is not facilitating your employment at a qualified school. They are shopping you around, keeping you a few steps ahead of the police. Legitimate employment in China is ONE visa attached to ONE qualified school. Legitimate recruiters can legally locate those jobs for you and receive a fee from the school. Agencies that bounce you among employers, providing you with an agency salary, are operating illegally.

Beijing Haina Zhicheng International ICEC: Have you ever worked or heard about this agency??

Hi everybody,
There's a Chinese agency offering me a teaching position but I can't find anything about them on the Internet, only their webpage. The recruitment agency is Beijing Haina Zhicheng International ICEC and their webpage http://www.chinaicec.org/english/home.html

A guy called Mike Peng is the recruiter who has contacted me (penghu1990@hotmail.com).

Have you ever worked with this agency or have you heard about it before? Is it reliable?

I need to know before taking a decision. Also, I think this thread could help others in the future.

Thank you all!!
