Re CZZ CHINA READ, READ, READ

There is always someone on the internet to take the 'stop whining crybaby' position and imagines themselves giving a smarten-up reality check. Its for their own ego.

In fact, plenty of younger people had problems and plenty of non-native speakers were getting favours and good stuff that should have gone to full-time employees. No, people do not get paid appropriately and yes many companies pay people before holidays and weekends and no you aren't reading posts from people who expect AMERICAN standards and now you need to remind them this is CHINA. Also, its not very CHINESE to disrespect older teachers. Which is more the complaint here than anything.

But what I'd be interested in knowing is how much past 9 months did you make it? To the end of your contract? and you renewed with them??

I read the post of this subject. I think you are right about the positive comments being fake. These posts look liks some Chinese wrote it. Notice the syntax errors. So Chnese.

Re CZZ CHINA READ, READ, READ

My guess is the positive reviews here are Marco Chen himself, or his Chinese staff he has instructed to followup on all negative reviews. Just my two jiao.

Re CZZ CHINA READ, READ, READ

Typical shit school tactics, blame employee dissatisfaction upon employee's failure to adapt to local conditions.

It won't wash.

The same old macho 'This is China' bullshit too... Not the favoured approach at higher class companies that actually value their staff, is it?

A free shitty apartment is always worse than a decent place that you rent by yourself. It affects your quality of life, whether it be due to overall comfort, commuting distance or amount of sleep.

As for this:

There's no need to get personal, people are trying to do there jobs regardless of your personal views , your entitled to your opinion but its unprofessional of you to start making personal comments

Are you a retarded foreign teacher or just one of the Chinese staff? There's some pretty laughable mistakes there, lol.

Re CZZ CHINA READ, READ, READ

I've had no problems with CZZ everyone is very helpful, I've always been paid on time, had help any time that I needed it.
Like said in the comment below, its China. The apartments are different, the cultures different everything is different, maybe it's not for you but lets remember the apartment is free for the teachers? so I personally don't think its fair to complain about that. There's no need to get personal, people are trying to do there jobs regardless of your personal views, your entitled to your opinion but its unprofessional of you to start making personal comments on people just because you have had a bad experience.

Once again, In my experience I have had no problems what so ever, Dana Marco and everyone else that works at the company have all made my working experience in China a very comfortable one and if I every have an problems there is always someone to help!
I knew what was in my contract before I came and everything in the contract has been met. Also China can sometimes be very last minute but thats no ones fault you just have to roll with it!!!

Maybe China wasn't for you.

Re CZZ CHINA READ, READ, READ

So I just thought I'd throw my own opinion and experiences out there as they differ form those of the person who wrote this post.

Jessica was/is a moron, the best thing that ever happened to CZZ was her quitting she was puppet who no opinions of her own. (but really this isn't about her)

The rest of it, I really haven't that experience I've been here 9 months and had a completely different experience with CZZ. Dana the recruiter is actually pretty great, is true to his word. In my contact with him he has never said yes to something if he didn't think it was possible. Marco isn't my favourite person but when I asked to switch schools there wasn't a problem and I did. I've been offered some extra part-time work but never really taken them up on it mostly because it just doesn't seem worth it to me (which maybe is your problem...).

I have heard of people being shopped around, this wasn't the case in my experience. However the people being shopped around were non-native speakers and older (45-50+), and to be honest from what i've seen here in Zhengzhou not just CZZ it's harder for non-native speakers and "older" people because schools don't want them.

My temporary apartment was shit, I told them. I moved, got a cleaning service in and that was that. No it's a palace, it has one bedroom, living room with a couch, a small kitchen, bathroom, washing machine etc. Remember guys China is a DEVELOPING COUNTRY apartments aren't going to be the same as what you're accustomed to in the USA or other places like the middle east where people go to teach.

They didn't give me a copy of my contract right away, but when I asked for one I was scanned a copy no problem or questions asked. The contract is pretty clear so I don't see how you could get fucked on it? You get xxxx amount each month, if you miss class or don't work a full month you don't get paid a full month pretty standard. My friend at another company who worked there for THREE YEARS had the previous year been approved to come back late (after national week) and was supposed to still be paid because her students were first year students and had military training. However they forgot and deducted 1000USD from her salary so I don't really think CZZ is that bad.

The TA/CS's are pretty good, the girls really are awesome I have to agree with that. My friends at other schools in Zhengzhou don't have this so I'm pretty happy I have someone to call if I need help...

Payday: I have never been paid late. Paid on the 15 or if that day is on a holiday/weekend, next business whats so hard to understand about that. Of course no company is going to pay you early!

Also who cares about the previous teacher, do a good job and don't get involved with who was there before you; you'll have significantly less problems if you do this.

Sounds like to me you're expecting to work for an AMERICAN company, guess what you're in CHINA. I know from talking to current employees who have worked with these problem teachers and they've said that a lot of the problems CZZ has had is with older teachers who just can't get used to working in China. So Dude get over it and move on. You're taking this way too personally - I really don't think CZZ was out to get you and I mean anytime I've adjusted my contract (rarity) they've written it down and it's been followed.

Overall my experience with CZZ has been pretty good!

CZZ CHINA READ, READ, READ

Ok let's debunk the lies, half-truths, and propaganda of CZZ.

1) Jessica Davis was the “HR director” and a rah-rah for CZZ. She was the HR manager who basically mimicked the decisions or directives of Niu Chen the owner of CZZ. She worked for about four months for CZZ ONLY because she needed a visa to stay in China. She was actually a host for a local television station in Zhengzhou. As soon as she could leave CZZ she did.

2) Niu Chen is a 24 year old punk. He cares not what his recruiter Dana Kruzic says in skype interviews to draw potential candidates to China. He WILL: Give assurances, statements, promises, and glorify positions that will absolutely be false or not followed through. He will give the lowest possible pay to teachers for assignments and pocket huge profits sometimes knowing the financial binds his teachers are in. He will ask teachers for favors and never, ever, return the favor, give 100% fruition, or give credit WHENEVER credit is due. In this current version of this business he goes by the alias Marco. Previously he was running an agency call Helen. From the past posts it is plain he was cheating, scamming, and abusing his employees.

3) Dana Kruzic is stoner who gives vague descriptions of positions with schools, company policies, procedures, and makes ambiguous references to the bonuses that a teacher can get. You will be told that there is a position waiting for you once he accepts you but the truth is once you have spent thousands to get to the P.R.C. you will 'shopped around' to various schools or training centers to see if they will accept you for a position. The description of the apartment you might be living in will not be accurate or be appropriately equipped. You might be forgotten at the airport upon arrival, or it might be changed or forgotten what position or school you were to have had waiting for you. Some of the schools will reject you if you are not from the United States or Canada.

4) The temporary apartment you may have waiting for you will be dirty with no kitchen and nothing to clean it with. The apartment you will be provided by the school may be unbelievably filthy, stinking, with no working water, and have no kitchen. It may be livable when you move in but don't count on it. Make sure that you boil the water from the tap if you use it for anything. One of CZZ’s teachers got metals poisoning because he didn’t boil the water long enough.

5) You will sign a contract that you will not be given a copy of, counter-signed by Niu Chen, and according to Chinese contract law enforceable in ANY country. It is an instrument only to be thrown in your face if you have any complaints about promised pay, over-time, or other stipulations that the company will brow beat you with to arm twist you into compliance. Understand now that you will NEVER, EVER, fulfill the stipulations of the contract to get the full amount of money you were told that you could receive. You WILL lose anywhere from 15,000 to 20,000 RMB.

6) You will be assigned a ‘TA’ or a ‘CS’ depending on the vernacular used at the time. These people are simply underpaid and over-worked company employees whose job it is to help you with things you need for the company, shopping, bus directions, or issues with your apartment. The girls are very good but the boys tend to be lazy and slick. Slick trying to work you for little things. The boys aren’t reliable and the girls do a good job. If you get contacted to do something you need to do it will be at a moments notice: moving, appointments, etc.

7) The school may or not be a school where there was a previous teacher from the agency. If it was there was probably a fall out from the teacher or teachers before. At some schools there will be a department head or subject who will be trying to eliminate the laowei (foreigner). In ANY event the students will be lazy rich kids whose parents were told that all they had to do is pay the tuition and the children are guaranteed to go to a western university. You cannot establish any discipline and there are no failing students. If you do in either case you will be complained about and back stabbed by the students AND the school. You will hear stories from CZZ such as 'the teacher was a racist' or 'the teacher got drunk every night' which if you talk to the teacher who was removed you'll find out these comments were lies. Even if the lies are debunked and the office knows the truth these will used as leverage to deny bonuses, or reduce pay, etc.

8) You will receive pay on or about the 15th of every month. Never earlier and always later if the pay day falls on the weekend. If you work some ‘other’ voluntary assignment you will receive your pay on the 20th of the following month. You WILL have days missing that you should be paid for usually regarding the first days you work. Many, many, many, of CZZ’s teachers often have unresolved pay discrepancies that are usually not worked out in their favor. Your first pay is held back so that the company can recover its initial fees for hiring you. You are not told this and this puts you in a position that pressures yourself into continuing working to get back your expenses from coming out to China. The most you can hope for is to break even.

9) If you attempt to stand up for yourself either to the school or the CZZ you will labeled either a ‘bad teacher’ or a ‘bad employee’. If you get angry with the office you will be threatened with: expulsion from China on a moments notice, blacklisting from China, or withholding of pay.

Final word. This post is a collection of conversations that I’ve had with the teachers of CZZ. Unless they come across this they will probably have no knowledge of what’s written here. As for me I’m fed up with the practices of Chinese agencies and have gone home to my country.
