He is one of those Western individuals with no property or security back home who came to China to teach English, and has sadly convinced himself his teaching job is a ''career". Like we said in another thread , ESL IS NOT A CAREER!

Well, a large part of that applies to me too mate,unfortunately. But at 38 I still have hope I can change it around. The only places where ESL could be considered a career (financially speaking!) is Saudi Arabia, a guy I know is there to boost up his retirement fund, so he can retire in Thailand cheaply. Doable on what you can save, but at the expense of your freedom.
