Good on you for issuing the warning. I think we can extend it to Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, in particular, where local police kickbacks from agents kept the PSB marginalised in the case of Shanxi, and where the provincial education bureau for Inner Mongolia approved inappropriate criminal background checks, and night school vocational courses as proper degrees in the past, respectively.
I expect that the crackdown is China-wide, and that non-native speakers have no long-term future in China as foreign experts!

A warning to affected English teachers -
There has been a recent crackdown on some Kid Castles within Harbin. Credentials are being double checked. If you are on an illegally obtained (Z) visa by having a fake degree or diploma be careful or your employer may have obtained one without your knowledge. Also check with your local police department to make sure you are registered to the correct one.
Non-native English speaking country students working as English teachers for Kid Castle stop what your doing or work for a different school. Examples are trying to be made of, and you're more disposable to the schools.
To legal English teachers - Make sure your direct school has a SAIC business License. Kid Castle is a franchise they sometime hire to unlicensed Kid Castle's.
MANDATORY MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF ENGLISH TEACHERS
1) Bachelor Degree In Any Major (Must Be Verifiable) they are checking again!
2) Police Certificate Confirming No Felony Convictions
3) Fluent In English (south Africans beware)
4) Willing To Sign and Honor Contract
Verify directly with the government ministry if its a newly opened Kid Castle.
Ask to see your work permit issued by provincial offices of the State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs. Does it look real? Verify with SAFEA!
Provincial public security bureaus are on the lookout.
M visa holders on "internships" you're not safe either. Remember you can only work with a Z visa. Make sure the school did not do anything questionable to process you.
Remember that Kid Castle is a franchise, the more established locations should be fine, but they are very aware of other schools practices.
Some heads need to roll, make sure its not yours.
