They market a fake 'life insurance' where you can only see the policy when you make a claim (after you die).
LOL
I've heard from a few teachers who work there that this isn't the best agency and not the worst.
They put people up in a youth hostel (shared dorm) until they find you a school. This isn't done in advance and they cart you around different schools until you are accepted (mostly kindergarten levels), although experienced teachers are usually placed quickly some others can take a while. It's a production line basically.
Also they keep their office as the official place of employment - which this is common in the west it's actually against Chinese laws.
They do not offer a health insurance, this contradicts Chinese law. They try to force you to sign an acceptance that you'll get your own insurance and market a fake 'life insurance' where you can only see the policy when you make a claim (after you die). Most of the teachers seem to think they're just pocketing the money.
While disorganised they do get all the correct documents but they're ploddingly slow about doing it.
Hey Josianne, I was in an accident and have to wait untill I know the extent of my injuries and the full recovery time before I can travel overseas for work, so I don't really have any information to give you as I couldn't accept the position.
I hope someone else can give you some information.
Good luck with it all and please let me know how it all went
Hi leo, how did this go? I got offered a job by this agency and I want to check they re not scammers (fingers crossed)
Thanks for the feedback. The office address they have on their website is in Shenzhen and that's where the position is as well(they told me they only do business in Shenzhen).
I will call tomorrow and see how I go.
thanks again for the feedback
They are not from Hong Kong and I can tell you why, in all of Guangdong there is only one legit educational company from Hong Kong that is authorized by the provincial board of education to operate, and this is not Shenzhen-Hongkong International Education Center.
Probably a crap Chinese company pretending to be from HK. Ask them for their HK business licence. You can also call the HK main Art Center in Wanchai or Central I don't remember, to ask them about this company and have a good laugh.
Hi all,
My name is Leo and I have been looking for a position in China for some time now. Recently I (finally) received some offers. I went through the information sent, did my research and turned down all but 2.
The problem, is that I cannot find any information on one of the companies that has offered me a position. They have a web-site, the person I spoke to has a linked-in page, but other than that nothing. I was wondering if anyone has any information on them?
Their name is Shenzhen-Hongkong International Education Center and they are a sub-division of Shenzhen-Hongkong Art Center.
The other School is Rockies in Quanzhou.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
