Not meaning to "quibble" here turnoi, but are you referring to advanced in terms of the education and training systems in place in those respective countries?

I have heard from many FT's/travellers that Korea also has backwardness that looks just like the worst parts of China, and Taiwan has stray dogs and pollution also. Japan, well I am no fan of that country for personal reasons, mostly relating to family and WW2. I also disliked their business practices and self congratulatory behaviour when they thought they were beating the west, by copying it's innovations,,,sounds familiar to another country, very arrogant race the Japanese.But I will give you they are a developed and technologically advanced society.
