Being a bit selfish in this respect is quite OK, I think.

With additional thought, even the good jobs always have something that could be better.

I'm not particularly concerned about housing, because I rent my own place in town. And the salary is not that important to me.

I understand that these two considerations might be very important to a FT, so the positions that I am happy with may not be acceptable to someone else.
