Do you need to learn how to do a cover letter? If so, this article will briefly describe how to do a cover letter using a simple 3 paragraph format. Ill also reveal a wonderful tool that can save you hours of time and will guarantee your success.

How To Do A Cover Letter Paragraph 1 Introduce Yourself.

If you are applying for a job without having the benefit of someone on the inside to introduce you to the decision makers, you need to introduce yourself. Forget any proper way of introducing yourself, just write it as you would say. Imagine meeting your kids best friends parents.

When you introduce yourself, you need to make a connection between yourself and the company. What do you have in common? What links from the past can you use to go into the future together? In addition to the connection, your first paragraph needs to establish your purpose in writing to the company. You do this by clearly stating the position you are seeking within the company.

How To Do A Cover Letter Paragraph 2 Highlight Your Resume.

In the second paragraph of your cover letter, you need to demonstrate a knowledge of the company. Describe how you appreciate, understand or even use the product or services that the company provides. Next in this paragraph, you will need to explain your qualifications for the position that you are applying for. At this time, you need to give your prospective employer some details about your qualifications. Dont be shy, you really need to sing all you can about yourself, humility comes later!

How To Do A Cover Letter Paragraph 3 Thank You and Follow-Up.

Now that you have introduced yourself and given the reasons why they should hire you, you need to explain your follow-up plan. If you plan on following up with another letter, email or phone call contact at a later time, tell them your plan. Employers need to see that you are capable of following through with things and it sometimes begins with the initial application. Of course, you will also want to include your phone number and email, in case they want to contact you, before you contact them.
