Outline to Make a Resume
By:Josh Harding

In this article I'll show you how to create the outline to make a resume. First we will go over the basic sections included in your outline, and then I'll tell you what goes in them.
This is the basic resume outline:

1) name and contact details.

2) profile.

3) major achievements.

4) career history / work experience.

5) language skills (optional).

6) IT skills (optional).

7) education / qualifications / training.

8) personal details (optional).

9) interests / hobbies (optional).

10) references / referees (optional).

Name / Contact Details: At the top of your resume include your name, address, cell and home phone numbers and e-mail address.

Profile: in this section you outline and summarize your skills, experience and capabilities that are relevant to an employer. It should be brief and factual.

Major Achievements: it's all in this section. You should outline several achievements that you have accomplished for your current and previous employers. For example, you could write about how you increased revenue. Include as many facts and figures as possible.

Career History / Work Experience: Here you list your work history in reverse chronological order. List your main responsibilities and achievements in each job.

Language Skills: Enter language skills only if it is relevant to the job you're seeking.
As
IT Skills: Again, only enter IT skills if it is relevant to the job you are seeking.

Education / Qualifications / Training: What is most important in this section is your qualifications. Do not list your qualifications in chronological order. Instead list them in order of importance. If it is relevant include education and training information.

Personal Details: Enter details that you feel will help you stand out. You do not have to enter your marital status or date of birth.

Hobbies / Interests: Only include these if it is relevant to the job you're seeking. The longer you have been working the less important this section becomes.

References: References are included only if they are specifically asked for.

This is a very basic outline, but it should get you started. There are great software programs out there that will make writing writing your resume a breeze.

This outline should help you get started, but if you really want your resume to stick out, I suggest investing in a software program. I go into this more at my blog.
