Resume and Interview Tips

Tips To Write Targeted Resumes
By:Simon Brett

A resume is also commonly known as curriculum vitae. Resume or CV is basically an organized document which in detail describes a person with regards to his professional and academic aspects. In short, by just glancing through a resume, you can come to know about a persons past, present and his future plans. This is because a resume gives information about a persons job experiences, educational qualifications, his achievements, any rewards or significant awards won by the person. Another important aspect of a resume is that it indicates the loyalty and sincerity of a person towards his job.

Resume writing is the decisive factor which ensures your selection in the company you wish to work for. It should reflect your strong points, capabilities and qualifications suitable to the job at target. You can prepare a resume yourself by gathering information from various sources such as internet, friends, books etc. or can take the help of some professional who is well versed with the technique of resume writing and might help you in the recruitment process, effective layouts, fonts, formats and impressive language used in resumes.

Through your resume you should make the reader realize that it is not you that is in need of the job but might be helpful to the company to accomplish a set target and to grow, if chosen. Remember that, the resume that fails to capture the attention of the reader and is incapable of conveying about your abilities positively, may not even be considered, no matter how capable you actually are.

Here are a few tips to write targeted resumes:
- Keep it brief.
- Gather information about the company and the position you are seeking the job for before writing about your capabilities.
- Be honest.
- Attach a cover letter along with your resume.
- Mention your past work experience briefly. It should also reflect the potentiality of your past jobs.
- Prepare your resume in such a manner that the employers may get eager to meet you.

Keeping these things in mind the resume writing may become simpler to you.
