Rehearse the interview with friend and record your conversation for checking the responses to the questions asked. Be prepared for the commonly asked questions. Practicing a lot will help you to analyze your mistakes and avoid them at the time of actual interview.

It is very important to be on time for the interview. If possible, reach to the interview place 10 to 15 minutes earlier. Know the name of the interviewer and use it during the interview. If you are not sure of the name, find out prior to the interview. Carry an extra copy of resume and the list of references at the time of interview.

Try to stay calm at the time of interview. Ask for clarification if you are not sure of what has been asked by the interviewer. If you do not know the answer to any question, do not lie to the employer and provide a fake answer.

Maintain a good dress code while going for an interview. The overall appearance of the applicant plays a significant role in getting selected for the position. Your appearance should be professional and your dressing style should match the job.
