Things to be Considered before Listing the References:

• Inform the people that you would like to put up their name as a reference. Many a times we know each other but we are not in touch with each other on regular basis. So it is important to intimate the person that you are going to mention his/her name as reference

• Send a copy of your resume to a person so that he/she is aware of all the relevant details

• The companies expect you to mention the references in proper resume formats. So it is very important to be able to write correct information of the person, you have listed as reference. The person whom you have put up as a reference might have changed the current job or he/she might have got promotion etc. So request the person to tell the latest information such as name of the company, designation, contact details and preferred time to contact him/her

• You can refer the names of your colleagues, your senior person in the previous company etc.
