Inspirational Thoughts on Kindness and Love
By:Bruno Bacelli

Our society continues to technologically evolve at a breakneck pace, but at what cost? Has the rush of daily life caused us to forget or de-emphasize traditional themes in life such as kindness and love?

Inspirational Thoughts on Kindness and Love

They often say a moment of kindness is repaid many times over. Love, of course, is the touted basis of not only happiness but the continuation of human life through the act of procreation. My, how clinical that sounds. Yet, in our modern society one has to wonder if the true nature, meaning and application of these words are lost more often than not. While people mention them, are they applied as they should be? Life is such a rush these days that it is often easy to replace action with mere worlds. Following are some inspirational quotes from historical figures on the nature of kindness and love that help shed light on the subject.

1. Kindness is more important than wisdom, and the recognition of this is the beginning of wisdom.

- Theodore Isaac Rubin

2. To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides.

- David Viscott

3. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

- Leo Buscaglia

4. Never pretend to a love which you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command.

- Alan Watts

5. My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness.

- The Dalai Lama

6. Kindness is tenderness. Kindness is love, but perhaps greater than love...Kindness is good will. Kindness says, "I want you to be happy.

- Randolph Ray

7. What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness?

- Jean Jacques Rousseau

8. Who indeed can harm you if you are committed deeply to doing what is right?

- I Peter

At the end of the day, love and kindness are purely personal human issues. You can choose to make them part of your life or not. I hope you do.
