How to Remember Movie Quotes
By:Collaborator

Some people have a knack for quoting movies. They're able to weave the best movie lines from history into normal conversation. Remembering movie quotes comes naturally to some, but is a trick that can be learned by almost anyone.

Identify some famously quotable movies and watch them repeatedly. "Casablanca" and "Gone With the Wind" are two of the most quotable movies ever made. Some quotes are instantly recognizable and require little effort to recall like, "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse." Make a mental note or write it down.

Use visual cues to help remember movie quotes. Writing out the quote forces you to focus on each word. Create a mental picture of the quote by spending time reading it over again.

Think about the quotes. Find the appropriate situations to use them in for fun. Treat them as lines with meaning attached, rather than catchy phrases.

Practice using the lines when alone. Speak to your pets in movie quotes. The more you say it, the easier it is to remember the quotes. Lose your place mid-quote, go back and practice more, before saying it to friends.

Tie the quote to a physical action. Put the quote together with a specific gesture or movement. The quote is now embedded in the action and easier to remember. Make this your signature move for remembering the quote. By performing the act, it triggers your memory.

Don't over memorize and lose the natural humor. You don't want the quote to sound rehearsed.
