Travel in the Philippines

in reply to #1074 i am a fluent English speaker and i am a filipino

Hello there!

This is in reply to your inquiry.

I am a Filipina but I hold a Canadian passport.

I hold a dual citizenship of being a Filipina and a Canadian as well.

Anyway, I know of many Filipino teachers teaching English here in Korea.

One info I got was that there is a unique treatment for Filipino teachers teaching
English in Korea. They are openly accepted as English teachers (for many Koreans
come to the Philippines to learn English. Koreans by and large know about the capability of Filipino teachers. There have been some Korean teachers, I know, teaching English themselves who studied in the Philippines in their university days (Colegio de San Agustin, La Salle). They are as fluent as native English teachers.

What am I trying to say here----that it really depends on who will be your employer and if your employer would risk that far to hire you as an English teacher.

Korea may be conservative and homogenous, but there are still some Koreans who
would take the challenge to make things differently in their environment.

Good luck in your search.

Blessings,

Edna
