What To Do In Boracay At Night
By:Lek Boonlert

The island doesn’t just come alive with the sound of music and people but also with the sounds of nature. Crickets rubbing their back legs together make for the deafening background tone once early evening sets in and they are soon joined by various species of frogs and toads as well as the odd barking stray dog or cat. The animals come alive with the cool of the evening and it is important to protect yourself against mosquitoes once the sun sets to avoid getting sick.

Beach bars in Boracay

Beach bars are great fun for young and old, couples and singles. Here are some ideas on what one can expect from the local beach bars:

1. Cheap beer
2. Loud music
3. Late opening hours
4. Party atmosphere
5. Live bands
6. Fire dancers
7. Performers
8. Snack food
9. Rustic seating
And… the odd pickpocket!

Hints and tips for a fun night out…

Leave your valuables in the hotel safe if you plan on taking a trip to the local beach bars that are often crowded and always noisy. Cheap beer flows all night long and many backpackers get so intoxicated that they leave themselves open to theft and although the island is fairly free from crime; it is always better to be safe.

Avoid travelling on motorbikes after excessive drinking as many visitors have accidents caused by drink driving. Remember the name of your hotel if you need to get a taxi back at the end of a long night out and take a torch if you plan to walk back as much of the island will be in darkness apart from the bar areas by the early hours of the morning.

What to do at night

There is plenty to see and do here from drinking on the beach in the many bars through to dining out in plush restaurants and all tastes and budgets are catered for on the island. Cheap food can be had at the tasty stall and hawker stands and light snacks are often available throughout the night in the beach bars. Beachside dining for romancing couples can be enjoyed at many of the best resorts and hotels and candlelit suppers under the stars are well worth paying out for if only for the unique experience it offers.

Accommodation on the island is as varied as the nightlife and your hotel, Boracay, may well have its own bar and dining areas. Other hotels even have clubs in the basement areas and many choose to spend at least some of their holiday eating at night where they stay to enjoy the peaceful and pleasant scenery and location.
