Shopping Malls to Visit in the Philippines
By:Alyssa Davis <Show E-Mail>

If you love to shop, you'll find plenty of opportunities in the Philippines. Not only are there plenty of small shops, but are also some truly great shopping malls to enjoy. If you are visiting or living in the Philippines, here is a list of malls to visit:

SM City North EDSA

The SM North mall has been open since 1985, and continues to be a popular shopping destination. It is home to more than 500 shops, stores and restaurants, and features 12 movie houses, including an IMAX theatre. This mall is the second largest shopping mall in the Philippines, as well as one of the largest shopping malls in the world. It's also a beautiful mall, featuring a newly designed Sky Garden for your enjoyment as you shop.

SM Megamall

Located in metropolitan Manila in the Ortigas business district, the SM Megamall is the third largest shopping mall in the Philippines. Open since 1991, this mall even has a skating rink. It features five floors of stores, karaoke bars, a huge arcade, and 12 movie houses. It's a great place to hang out and shop.

SM Mall of Asia

The SM Mall of Asia, often referred to as MOA, is located by Manila Bay. It is the largest mall in the Philippines, open since 2006. It features 600 shops, restaurants and stores, 12 movie houses including an IMAX theatre, and an Olympic-sized ice skating ring, which was the first in the Philippines. Many people consider this to be the finest mall in the Philippines. It's so large that many people plan two days of shopping just so that they can see everything it has to offer.

Robinsons Galleria

The Robinsons Galleria is a cozy little mall with a great selection of fine stores. It's located in one of the Metro's busiest districts, making it a convenient shopping spot for those in the area, including students and young adults. This is not your typical large sprawling mall, but it offers a pleasant and unique shopping experience.

TriNoma Mall (Triangle North of Manila)

This large mall in Quezon City opened in 2007. It's a beautiful mall with many different stores and large amounts of green space, both inside and outside the mall. The inside landscaping is beautiful, with many water features. With more than 500 shops, stores and restaurants, it's a great place to spend the day shopping. The mall also features multiple movie houses, an arcade, and karaoke. The TriNoma Park also sits on top of the mall, featuring many restaurants and a stage for shows and performances.

Greenbelt

This high end shopping complex is actually comprised of four different malls. Greenbelt 1 contains stores, restaurants, an onstage theatre for plays and concerts, and cinemas. Greenbelt 2 features a number of fine dining restaurants. Greenbelt 3 is home to boutique shops, cafes, restaurants and cinemas, and is probably the most popular mall of the four. Greenbelt 4 is very high end, featuring expensive shops that offer only the finest merchandise. Although you may not be able to afford to buy anything at Greenbelt, it is a great place to visit and window-shop.
