Travel in the Philippines

I'm an American, and I want to teach in the Philippines
By:Kristene B <Show E-Mail>

My mother is a Filipino and all of her relatives (half of my family) live in the Philippines. I've only been there once when I was 6 years old and I would love to spend more time there. The Philippines is such a beautiful place and I would love the chance to meet my family again.

I'm almost finished with my first year of college. I am studying to earn a bachelors degree in middle childhood education (grades 4-9) with specializations in math and social studies. I will also have a generalist degree so I would be qualified to teach math, science, language arts, and social studies in grades 4-6. My minor is intervention specialist.

I would like to teach in the Philippines; for just one year or possibly even longer.

Is it possible for me to teach in the Philippines? What should I do to make sure I'm qualified to do so?

Thanks!
