International Faith Theological Seminary (IFTS) started in 2004 as a small online school. Meanwhile, it has developed into a school network with several branches worldwide. Our main mission is to provide high quality academic programs at tertiary level to those qualifying but who, for a number of reasons, cannot afford to pay tuition fees or cannot be reached otherwise. In Kenya, where currently most of our students come from, we also offer "in-house" training with real students and teachers physically present in class. To keep our work alive, we only ask fees from those who can afford to pay them - either fully or partially.

The School is run from within an Anglican church setting but the programs we offer are not limited to training for Christian Ministry and Christian clergy alone. We also offer comprehensive programs on African Religious and Cultural Studies and the same for the Himalayan region. The focus is on understanding the native religious and cultural traditions and how they interact with current ways of life in these communities. Students enrolled in these programs also are required to study two or more native languages of the area in question.

At Certificate and Diploma level, we offer foreign language programs in 12 foreign languages, and we also have a Diploma Program on Chinese Traditional Religion and Classical Literature of Traditional Chinese Medicine focusing on the study of those literary works in the original language (Classical Chinese). There is also a full English Teacher Training program we have developed to help those in Christian Ministry who depend on extra work to earn their because their native churches are too poor to pay them. We also run a number of linguistic fieldwork research projects on unwritten and endangered languages with the purpose of develpping a writing system for the latter.

We are highly cross-culturally orientedand "inclusive" in our work - we do not actively missionise,and we welcome students and staff from diverse religious backgrounds, not necessarily Christian. In Kenya, we have initiated a number of community projects in the slums around Nairobi and also educate a number of student who are former street kids, abandoned by their parents and left to themselves and often suffering from drug addiction.
