There are lots of reasons that parents choose to home school. Some simply feel that they can provide a better education for their child at home. Some believe that their child is either gifted or challenged and simply can’t learn in a traditional classroom setting. But many choose to home school for religious reasons, either because they are concerned about what their children may learn in public school or because they believe they, as parents, can provide a better education.

Whatever the reasons parents choose to home school, there are many resources and decisions parents have to make about curriculum.
But not all parents who choose the non-public school route are comfortable with teaching every subject. Fortunately, there are resources available for course that will either teach your child the full curriculum or specific courses.

Westminster Academy provides classes for elementary through high school at Third Presbyterian Church in Richmond. They use an integrated approach that combines faith and knowledge. In Chesterfield

Chesterfield Christian Academy offers classes at Southside Nazarene Church in Chesterfield as an extension of home education. They seek to assist parents with academic, spiritual and moral training of students.

But maybe you find that your child just needs a little extra help in a subject, or there’s one subject that you don’t feel comfortable to teach. Consider SchoolTutoring Academy where students can remain in the home and work with a private, in-home tutor. Tutoring is available in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to tutoring, SchoolTutoring Academy can offer after-school homework help, ESL tutoring and SAT and ACT prep for college bound students.
