What fight?

Today is your day to fight for the things that you secretly long for.

The things you think about when the lights are out and you sink under the covers. If even for a moment, you wonder what life would be like if you were truly happy.

Before your self-esteem (the emotions you feel about yourself) and self-concept (your perception of how you think the world sees you) were distorted by your surroundings in life, you had a dream.

As a matter a fact, you had fun dreaming.

The fun came crashing to an end when an event or series of events happened that ripped your soul into shreds. Powerless because of the circumstances, you did all you could to survive in a world that hurt you.

This hurt is an open wound that tries to get healed in abusive relationships, unhealthy work environments and perfectionism. All in an effort to prove to yourself that you are finally good enough to be accepted.

Accepted not only by others, but by yourself.

This wound that no ones sees except your soul. It whispers to your heart that you need to settle for whatever you can get, even if it means making everyone else happy, except yourself.

As an adult, you have a choice.

Know that it is your right to have love, happiness, and peace of mind.

It’s okay to want something different in your life.

It’s okay if the world disagrees with you.

God knows the desire he put inside of you. It’s nobody’s business but yours.

The methods of survival that helped you maintain sanity while growing up, don’t serve you in the way that best honors what you long to become today.

What do you what for your life?

Your desire does not have to get told to someone else. Keep it sacred between your soul and your Creator.
