Bad Habits Hold Us Back
By:Frank Gasiorowski

What is a habit? It is an action on a regular basis and something that becomes instinctive.

What is a bad habit? A mistake, an oversight, a slight; usually apologetic, referring to one's own failures.

Do your past failures hold you back? Your past is gone and does not create your future.

You do.

Why I did not write for 33 years.

A college professor graded a paper that I wrote and gave me a zero grade on it.

When I asked why, she mentioned that I had spelled the word " there" wrong.

I should have used the word, "their."

I told her that this was a creative writing course and she should grade me on my creative writing style. (I knew that I was a creative writer)

Her response was, "NO."

"Anyone who gets into college and still does not know the proper use of the word "their," does not deserve to have a paper graded.

I never returned to that class or that college. It was 33 years before I discovered that I imprisoned myself behind a wall that I built for myself.

I allowed that wall to hold me back from one of the greatest joys of my life: Writing.

I had a habit of believing others before asking what is in my heart.

How do you change a bad habit?

You need to find out what it is that is holding you back. Mentally, you need to create the desire to change.

When you change your thoughts you can overcome your past.

Relentlessly pursue your new vision. Now, you can begin to change a bad habit.

Thoughts are Real. That's true.

"Your thoughts are an entity in and by themselves."

"Our life is revealed and determined by our thoughts. Our destiny is created in the thoughts that we believe." Frank Gasiorowski 2007

In other words, "What you conceive in your mind is what you can achieve but only when you truly believe it."

"I keep six honest serving-men (they taught me all I knew); There names are, What and Why and When and How and Where and Who." Rudyard Kipling

Albert Einstein said, To solve a problem, you can't use the same mind that created it.

When you have a difficulty and you are searching for an answer,

people may say, "Are you out of your mind?

Just say, YES!

Get out of your mind! (the old mind that is)

5 Steps to problem analysis. The ultimate solution.

Write down the problem. Yes, write it out on paper.

1- Get the Facts: research, do your "due-diligence," ask better questions.

2- Analyze the facts: Write down the pros and cons.

3- Arrive at a decision: what conclusion do you come to? Make a decision.

4- Act on that decision.

5. Start a daily action plan, create a new habit.

a. Your habits form your future.
b. Every level of success requires a new mindset.
c. Persistence and diligence pays off.

Who, What, Where, When, How and Why?

Use these questioning words on a daily basis to ask better questions and start changing your habits with them.

When you know your "WHY" and your "Purpose" it's easier to change a habit.

It takes 30 days to change a habit, (some say 21 but it takes longer for me)
30 days to start the change,
30 days to reinforce that habit and
30 days to make that habit secure.

90 Days are what it takes to make a complete change of habit in your life.

90 Day Goals are the building blocks for all of life's achievements.

What holds us back?

Fear: False Expectations Appearing Real, procrastination, fear of success, staying in your comfort zone, suppression from yourself or others.

We hold ourselves back.

Yes, that's it, only we set the stage for failure or success.

We are the executive producers of our own show.

Our Realty TV; nothing is more real than what we create and perceive in our own mind.

Remember, "Thoughts are Real."

To Overcome, is to be the better of.

Use the principles that are outlined and become an "OVER COMER."
