Motivation Tips

Finding Inspiration In The Holidays
By:Bruno Baceli

As we approach the end of the year, the holidays are upon us. If you are in a rut or looking for motivation, you need to find inspiration and the holidays are a good place to look.

Finding Inspiration in the Holidays

For many people, the holidays prove to be a mixed bag. On one hand, it is a time to get together with friends and family to celebrate. You can celebrate being together, religious dates of significance or just a little time off from work! There is, however, an undisputed dark side to the holiday season. Statistically, this is a bad time for people who are depressed. Sadly, many people fall into the pits of despair and take their own lives. This sad development should not be.

If you ignore the negative, you can find a lot to be inspired by in the holidays. The trick is to focus on the positive. Instead of walking through daily life in a haze, stop and take a look around you. How lucky are you? You have friends. You have family. If nothing else, you have the day off to grab a book and do a bit of reading. Regardless, the key is to focus on the positive aspects. You should appreciate these things in your life and not take them for granted. Even if you have only a few positives after a rough year, you need to recognize you still have more than many people around the world. Heck, most people don’t even know what the Internet is much less how to access it.

Admittedly, it is easy to sit back and tell someone to focus on the positive when you are not walking in their shoes. That being said, life is a roller coaster and you just have to face up to the fact. There are going to be some good days and some bad ones. There are going to be some good years and some bad ones. You are not alone in experiencing these. The key is to balance out the roller coaster. Things are never as good as you think, but nor are they as bleak. The sun will rise tomorrow and so will you. If you feel completely uninspired, get up and watch the sun rise to gain some inspiration.

Many people get depressed during the holidays because they focus on the negative. Ignore the negative and focus on the positive. You will soon realize you have much to inspire you to make 2007 a great year.
