Celebrate - If You Just Believe!
By:Carolyn Porter

Believe in what your heart is saying,
Hear the melody that’s playing,
There’s no time to waste,
There’s so much to celebrate.

Believe in what you feel inside,
And give your dreams the wings to fly,
You have everything you need,
If you just believe.

This beautiful song, sung by Josh Groban and heard during the holiday season, shares some powerful and deeply spiritual words with us. This is the season to celebrate and we do so in many ways – family gatherings, holiday musical performances, parties, special church programs, decorating our homes, sharing with those in need, giving and receiving of gifts, and so on. All of this is wonderful to participate in as we celebrate the holiday season, but have we forgotten a very important thing to celebrate…our dreams.

Our heart is an extremely vital part of our body. Without its service to us we could not live. But the function of our heart goes much deeper than just our physical being. It is our life force, the center of our being, where we feel love and can extend it outwardly, and where all emotions and feelings are born. Our heart is the center of our life.

Yet so often we listen to our mind rather than our heart. We know something deep inside, in our heart, but make a different choice because we analyze (in our mind) the situation. Later we realize it would have been better if we listened to our heart. Perhaps there’s been a nudge to do something different – write a book, begin a new business, step away from a particular relationship, move to a new location, learn a new trade – but fear has us locked in place and we don’t listen to our heart’s nudging.

Anything you can dream, you can create into reality! That’s a strong statement yet it is absolutely true. There’s a phrase I’ve heard again and again – If you can conceive it, and believe it, you can achieve it. You see, if you have the ability and power to imagine something, you also have the ability and power to follow through and make it happen. The choice is up to you.

All you need to create a dream into reality is already inside of you. You’ve been given the thought (idea), you have the raw materials (deep desire or feelings) to make it happen or you wouldn’t have had the thought, your power source is available to help you achieve it if you simply use your power of choice to do it, and as you step into the flow of making it happen the universe aligns with your desire and assists you in the process. So why do many individuals ignore the inner nudging they receive to step into their dream?

They don’t believe in themselves. At some time they’ve been told in some way that they aren’t capable, aren’t good enough, aren’t as smart as they should be, have limitations, don’t have enough resources, have responsibilities and obligations, and therefore lack whatever is necessary to live their dream. All of this negative conditioning is born from fear – false evidence appearing real. And in the external realm of our existence, as an individual analyzes his/her circumstances, there may be justification according to their perception for their doubts. So their dream is placed on the closet shelf and the door closed.

But if you believe in your Divine heritage – that you are a creation of the Creator of the universe and are therefore part of that same Divine energy, then you can believe in your own power to create your dreams into reality. It doesn’t take a degree or a title to create your dream. It doesn’t require lots of money in your bank account to create your dream. Nor does it take a lot of pushing and manipulation to create your dream. If your dream is in alignment with your highest good, here’s what it does take to make your dream a real life experience.

First, place an intention (thought) of your dream – exactly what you wish it to be. Make it clear and precise but with no details. Make sure it comes from your heart, not your head.

Second, be willing to follow your dream. Until you’re willing to accept the dream and agree to follow it, nothing will ever come of that dream.

Third, it requires surrender. This means releasing your fears surrounding any part of this dream – time, money, your ability, how to do it, doubts – and getting totally out of the way of the universal power that will bring all the details to you in Divine timing.

Fourth, you will need a great deal of patience. This virtue doesn’t come easy for most individuals as they often want something yesterday, yet it is a vital part of living your dream. Dreams may not manifest for months or even years and those who lack patience often let go of their dream.

Lastly, say “thank you” for the manifestation of your dream before it comes to fruition. As you are grateful for the fulfillment of your dream before you see it, you reaffirm your belief that it will happen. By focusing on what you expect to come to you, it expands into greater and greater experiences that propel you towards the manifestation of your dream.

What are you feeling inside of you? What dreams have you pushed aside because you saw no way for them to become real? If you could make your life into what you desire, what would that look like? Everything in this life requires a choice, and whether or not you follow your dream is your choice. Stepping up to the plate to do the task is scary to many people so they turn away from it and keep crawling in their favorite spot because it feels comfortable or it’s all they know. Why not live your dreams by simply making the changes in your life that allow you to fly free? Just as the butterfly experiences a new life of freedom and beauty it didn’t know before once it decides to spin the chrysalis around its caterpillar form to transform, so can you become all you’ve ever dreamed you could be. You have everything you need, if you just believe!
