Nothing Should Offend You - Self Improvement
By:LaRene Ellis

Our society has changed over the years. One area that bothers me is what people refer to as the term ‘politically correct.’ In the past, no one thought about saying, “That offends me.” so you have to change to make me comfortable. “You can’t sing the traditional Christmas song or say a prayer in public places.”

We can go on and on today about how people’s individual opinion has changed our society. In my opinion, our society today has become sterile and dull. If we go back to the building of our country, people flowed here from every country and helped to build the greatest society the world has ever seen. Each person brought with them their dreams, their desires, their traditions, and families.

They worked hard to make a life for their families. Today, we’ve seeing this attitude change. People are demanding instead of giving. There are a few who are demanding we cater to their feelings. So they won’t be offended, the few are demanding we not share our traditions. They shout this ‘offends me so you all have to change.’

Every action and thought has a dominoes effect in the universe. No one can offend you and it can’t be forced on you. It is a choice. When a few people demand everyone changes so they can feel comfortable, they have offended the majority.

Everything, we do is governed by a law and effect follows. If everyone demanded society changes so they won’t be offended, chaos would rule. At times, I think it almost there. We all have heard of these people in the news.

Every time, I’ve heard these people speak. The same attitudes convey from them. They emote unhappiness, selfishness, low tolerant, and small thinking. Thanks to our courts, we are catering to people who chose to be unhappy and selfish. We all know someone like this. Without thinking, we want to avoid them because we don’t to get sucked into their unhappiness.

We should be celebrating everyone’s differences, traditions, their dreams and hopes. It will bring so much happiness. You don’t quite know how to take it all in. Celebrating in others joy, dreams brings what you want from the universe in your life. When you take the time to learn and understand someone else’s traditions. You understand each other’s beauty.

Everyone is special. Most traditions show people’s history or what’s important to them. It builds self-esteem to have traditions. It helps to know where your roots come from in life. Those of us who don’t have them wonder around in a daze, wondering who they are.

The few who scream, “I’m offended,” are truly the offensive people. Our courts are catering to them. The downside of this attitude, it teaches children to be bigots and low tolerant of others.

I decided to create a website where people can talk about their traditions and share them. In hopes, it will teach us all to be tolerant of each other differences. We should be cherishing them and not shoving them in a closet. Join me and let’s talk about why we’re so special and what makes our lives rich. I’ve yet to see a tradition that doesn’t make sense.

I was taught in school as a little girl and have found it to be true: “You don’t know a Man until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins.”
