Overcoming resentment by choosing wisely - Self Improvement
By:Cristina Diaz

I have been in situations with people who tend to use derogatory comments and words. Words that hurt, that seek to blame, and seek to put down the other person. I've been that hurt other person, walking away with hurt feelings.

I talk from experience: keeping grudges and resentment, feeling like a victim and wanting "justice" does not help a bit. It only makes it worst, because you focus on your hurt feelings and you allow yourself to live them again, and again, and again.

There is something, however, that does help to overcome all resentment. It is changing your thoughts, which is easy to do, when you actually do it.

When you find yourself experiencing resentment, do this: focus on yourself.

This implies "forgetting", or if you like leaving aside, all those bad thoughts and feelings you may have towards somebody else.

Don't seek divine justice. Don't think you cannot do anything else until you sort out what you feel towards someone else. Just go on with YOUR life.

Simple?

Actually, yes, when you think of how much you have inside yourself, how much you are, all that you can do and can achieve, and all that you mean to so many people, for instance.

This is my advice. When you feel resentment and grudges, direct your attention to yourself. By focusing on you, your mind is busy on you. Not on the resentment. Not on anybody else.

Do something that you like to do and keep focused. Get excited about your plans for the future - and think it bright! Do something simple that you know you'll enjoy doing, plan what you'll do over the weekend,

You see, once again it all comes down to the thoughts that you choose to focus on.

Now, choose wisely, and choose your positive You.

You'll see good things coming straight to you.

To your success.
