How To Develop Self Esteem
By:Greg Nicholls

Self esteem is an ingredient that is missing in many people, an ingredient that could take people from where they are to where they want to be.

Fortunately self esteem can be found quite easily; believe it or not, it is really just a decision away.

How does one make this decision?

First of all, take some time to set out some goals, set these goals to be attained within about 90 days. Then, look back on these goals and get to know some specific information about them, for example, if you want a new car, determine the make, model, color, features, options and price of the vehicle. When you know all of this information, go to the car dealership and take one out for a test drive. You want to get emotionally attached to this goal so that it is more real to you because you will be focusing on this goal daily in your mind and recalling how the car smelled, felt, drove, where the buttons are, what they do, etc.

Taking time to get specific and intimate with your goal is one of the keys to success.

But how does all this lead to self-esteem you ask?

When you have a purpose in life, and you are happy and excited about moving towards and attaining your goals, you develop self-esteem.

You say you could never get a new car (or the car of your dreams) with the job that you have? Well, get a new job, or better yet, start your own business.

The likely reason you have low self esteem is because you are not satisfied with your life; you are not making the money you want or need to, you are away from your family for way too many hours each week, you do not like the work you do and have felt “stuck” in it for so long that you have begun to shrivel up in a ball of self doubt, worry and fear.

So…snap out of it!

There is a beautiful quote by Marianne Williamson that you deserve to read:

Our Deepest Fear by Marianne Williamson

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

So now you know that you are meant for greatness and to let your inner light shine, do yourself and the world a favour and make a decision to develop your self esteem.

I know you can do it!
