Motivation Tips

If It's On Your Plate
By:James Leer

Does it ever seem like things aren't going you way? Isn't that a joke? Does it ever seem like you're wondering, "How am I going to get out of this, how am I going to solve this? Why do I have to do this when I'd rather be doing that? I'm better at that!"

Does it? The whole fact of the matter is, yes it does. Now, what does The NEW Think and Grow Rich philosophy teach about this? Well, it definitely teaches delegation. That's the whole process, the whole theory behind the MasterMind—get other people to do what you're not so good at doing.

On the other hand, what does it teach about adversity? What does it teach about hardship? What does it teach about doing the things that you need to do to go to the next level?

Very simple. It teaches you do them, and you do them in a spirit and with an attitude of gratitude. You are thankful, you are eager—and maybe it's not the highest and best use of your potentialities, but it is what you've got to do in front of you.

And remember, Think and Grow Rich works the other way around, too: think and grow poor.

If you are running off with a bad attitude you'll affect your results, you'll affect your team members. If you are positive and moving forward, you, of course, are creating rather than destroying.

Now you might say, "Well, this is little bitty stuff." And it is—for an achiever. But then, an achiever can have a thought of impatience and get over it. But for a regular person—they can have thoughts of impatience and get overwhelmed, and they can't get anything done. And they can believe that things and circumstances aren't fair, which again takes them out of their power zone.

So you, dear achiever, in everything you do, think is first—and everything comes from that. You think powerfully, too, about the things that are otherwise known as upsets. Otherwise known, in some people's vocabularies, as problems, minutia. Whatever it is that you've got to do to move to the next level, if it's on your plate to do, you've got to do it.

It's like flying to the airport. If the plane you're on is delayed and causes you to miss your next flight, well, you're delayed—you missed your next flight. If it's feasible (and I realize it's not always feasible), you've got your laptop, so you can do something productive. You can make some calls; that's something productive. What you do have is the ability to control your reaction to everything and to stay productive.

You don't have to get upset. You just don't have to. You can't! What can you do? You know you create your results with every little thing you do. Even the little acts, such as reading this article right now, can make your life more successful.

So go for it!
