Top 10 Tips For Beating Shyness
By:Edward Smith

Being shy might make dating seem impossibly daunting. If you're shy, you may find it difficult to imagine how you'll be noticed when you feel that you cannot communicate with anyone, let alone make the first move. However, what you might be forgetting is that self conscious people can often come across as enigmatic and intriguing, and lots of people prefer someone a little bit self-effacing to a person who is brash and overly confident. An additional benefit shy people have is that they frequently make good listeners - or they certainly appear to be so anyhow.

Nevertheless, there are some ideas you are able to follow to either help overcome your shyness or reduce the effects it may have.

Do not think of your self as shy; think of your self as quiet or perhaps a good listener instead.
Make small talk as often as possible by talking to shop assistants, your next-door neighbours and work acquaintances.
Compliment people and accept words of flattery with a smile and a thank you.
Take a moment before your date to ensure that you look your best. Realizing that you look great can help you feel comfortable and will also boost your self-confidence.
If you are concerned that you might become tongue-tied on the date, choose to see a movie or play or go to watch a sporting event. You'll have less time available to talk, plus the time you do have can be filled up with a dialogue about the event.
There are quite a lot of subjects that are essentially universal - practically everyone can contribute to them. These helpful topics include: -Family -Work -Interests -Education (your school and College days)
When talking, ask 'open' questions (ones that require more than a yes/no answer) that allow your date to elaborate on their replies; this helps the discussion to flow with less effort.
Don't keep tossing question after question at your date without listening to the answers, just make sure that there are no embarrassing silences.
Make sure you speak about those things that you are good at and interested in.
Don't feel bad about being shy - the majority of us experience it at one time or another.

So the next time you begin worrying about shyness, look back at this list and alter your behavior accordingly. Bare in mind beating shyness is achieveable for everybody, you just need to focus on these suggestions and keep practising.
