3 Ways to Be the Change You Want to See in the World
By:Kasia Rachfall

It was Ghandi who said those famous words "Be the change you want to see in the world." It is a simple recipe for creating positive results in your life.

How does one go about this? You may say to yourself "Who am I to change the world? I am only one person."

The truth is that change starts with everyone of us. If we waited for others to make a difference nothing would ever get done. And you don't have to be an activist or rich and famous to have an impact on the world. There are small changes that you can make in your life to create a ripple effect of change in the world.

1. Reasons vs. Results - which side of this equation are you on? Have you set goals in the past and not reached them? Were you on your way and some obstacle came up and you decided that the goal was unreachable? Focusing on the reasons why you can't achieve something will never get you the results you dream about. The easiest way to achieve a goal is to look at obstacles as opportunities for learning and celebrate them because you know you are on the road to reaching your goal.

2. Focus on what you want - our thoughts create our world. Choose thoughts that are congruent with the outcome you want for yourself and you will attract what you want into your life. If you don't know what you want then start with what you don't want. It's ok to not know. Empty yourself of all the things you don't want and then start focusing on what you do want.

3. Ecology of your actions - when setting a goal and deciding to pursue it look at whether your actions will be for the good for yourself, your family, the community and the planet. Notice if the end result feels, sounds, and looks right. When you start evaluating what you do from these perspectives it is easy to make the right choice.

When you take responsibility for your actions you live a more balanced and congruent life. You don't find excuses for not reaching your goals. Instead, you learn at every opportunity and make course corrections as obstacles come up. You know that an obstacle means you are well on your way to where you are meant to go. When you make positive changes in you own life these changes impact those around you. For every action there is reaction, its simple physics. Do your part to take positive action and notice how your world changes.
