Motivation Tips

How to Positively Influence Others
By:Cj "the Motivator"

GIVE THEM WHAT THEY WANT
Zig Ziglar said it best, “You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” The first way to positively influence others is to give them what they want first.

If you want to influence your spouse for example, the first question you should ask yourself is, “What is it that they want?” The greatest negotiators in the world come to the negotiating table with a list of needs that the other party wants.

IMAGE INFLUENCES
On of my principles from my new book, “You Were Created for Greatness; 12 steps to releasing your great potential,” I talk about how your image influences others continuously. Each time you walk out of the house, people are influenced to give you things (or not) based on your personal or professional image. An outside salesman does better when his or her image is polished. A guy going on a date does better when he has had time to work on his image. People are inclined to give you a loan when you present yourself as a professional to the banker.
It sounds unfair sometimes that people judge us based on our looks, but as the scripture goes, “Man looks at the inside, but God judges the heart.” God may see you have a great heart, but man will always be influenced by what they see on the outside first.

ATTITUDE INFLUENCES
In my opinion, nothing influences more than attitude. With a great attitude, a person will loan you money or may be inclined to invite you to their home. A great attitude may be the deciding factor whether the person goes out with you or not. People purchase products from people with great attitudes. A great attitude will even influence God to show you favor or blessings. When God delivered his people out of Egypt, they immediately developed a poor attitude and the Man upstairs was not happy with their grumbling. Their short journey to the promise land ended up taking forty years all because of a poor attitude. I believe that you are now ready to influence others in a positive way. Good luck!
