It doesn’t matter what the rest of the world is doing. It doesn’t matter other people are unhappy or miserable. Does joining them in their unhappiness and misery help them?

No it just makes you feel terrible. The best gift you can give someone is your own joy. It lifts others up out of their hole as you are a living source of hope to them.
The only effect the outside world has on you is the attention you personally give it.

Don’t pay any attention to the wars, the economic crisis or the other woes of the world.

Let those who want to play war games engage in it. Let those who want to be caught up in a so-called depression to be affected by it. And let those who worry about every little thing do so.

What others choose to do has no effect whatsoever on how you choose to live your life? Choose what you want to create in your reality. And allow the rest of the world to choose what it wants.
