Top 5 Tips For Using Positive Affirmations

I am a strong believer that positive affirmations can help you achieve success in all you do. However, positive affirmations have to be used properly for optimum results. Take a look at the top tips below for using positive affirmations.

Top 5 tips for using positive affirmations

1) Use affirmations in the present tense. Affirmations are most effective when used in the present tense. It projects an ideal state of being, something we are working on for the future but 'feeling' in the present. By affirming that ideal state or goal in the present tense, we are opening up ourselves to receive it.

2) Use them with visualization. When you say your affirmations, visualize the positive outcome as well. Repeat this process until you can feel yourself achieving the goal you affirm. If your affirmation is "I have more than enough money for everything I want", Visualize yourself in possession of that which you want and feel the joy that comes with it.

3) Affirmations must be specific. State your goal, positive outcome or whatever you affirm in specific terms. For example, "I am a successful sales executive making $75,000 per year". Once you focus on this specific income, you have set your intention, have something to work towards and thus increase your chances of reaching or surpassing that income level.

4) Repeat them several times throughout the day. Incorporate your affirmations in your daily thoughts by repeating them several times and you will increase your vibration to your goals. Thereby increasing your chances of achieving them. This keeps your goals top of mind and helps to maintain your focus on your goals.

5) Write them down. Record your affirmations in a daily journal. Write your affirmations on index cards that you carry with you each day and look at periodically throughout the day. You can also write your affirmations on post-it notes and stick it on places where you can see it often, like a mirror or on your computer monitor.
