Goal Setting - The Top 10 Things to Do to Insure That You Hit Your Goals
By:Anthony D Carter

1) Connect. You must link your goal to your dream. Set it up so that when you hot a goal it puts you another step towards obtaining your dream.

2) Write. Write your goal down on cards. Place these cards where you can see your goals throughout the day. As you continue to look at and read your goals you increase your focus on them thereby increasing your likelihood of hitting them.

3) Date. Put a date on your goal. Determine when you anticipate hitting your goal. You need a deadline for accomplishment. Otherwise you will drift from one of life's challenges to the next. Your goal will eventually lose it's importance to you if you don't set a date for completion of it.

4) Plan. Make a plan for hitting your goal. Determine what it is going to take to hit your goal. Map out a step by step plan. Include the necessary work habits and the knowledge that you'll need.

5)Accountability. Make a commitment to another person who is supportive of you. Check in with them on a regular basis. Give them updates on your progress. Give them the date that you anticipate completing your goal and give them permission to hold you accountable to what you say you are going to do.

6) Talk. Use affirmations. Positive self talk helps you eliminate negative thoughts from growing in your mind. Your affirmations will keep you focused on what is possible.

7) Examples. Study and read about successful people. Read biographies of people who have accomplished the goal that you aspiring to achieve.

8) Work. Do the work that is necessary to accomplish your goal. Never underestimate the value of consistently doing the proper work. So often this key determines the difference between success and failure.

9) Failure. Do not let failure get you down. As long as you apply what you learned from your failure then you are going to be alright. You only fail when you stop trying.

10) Persist. Never give up. Keep trying. Develop a resolve to have the success that you desire. Stick with doing the work until you hit your goal.
