Motivation Keys - 3 Barriers That Can Stop You Dead in Your Tracks
By:Anthony D Carter

No Plan. Without a plan you get off track easily. When you are bombarded with problems and distractions you may get sidetracked and never get back to what you really want to be doing. With no plan you don't know where you left off so it is nearly impossible to have the same enthusiasm and excitement that you previously brought to your endeavor.

Solution: Have a written plan for what you intend to do. This will help you intensify your focus, You will also become more efficient as you streamline your approach by mapping out the best route to the successful accomplishment of your goal.

No Fun. It is hard to muster up the initiative to do something that you dread doing because it is boring and monotonous. When you get no enjoyment whatsoever from a task you generally avoid doing it. You feel like putting it off to the last minute. You want to postpone doing it for as long as you can.

Solution:Find something that you can do to make the task that you have to do fun. If you cannot find anything in particular about the task you like then focus on a successful outcome. Think of how much fun it is going to be for you to say you finished the task. You will be relieved and happy that it is done.

No Inspiration. Without anything to inspire you it is hard to garner motivation to do anything. You do not get excited about doing the task if your reason is for doing it is small or nonexistent.

Solution: Always have a strong reason for doing what you are about to do. Make your reason why a big one. If you are sufficiently inspired then the necessary motivation will be there for you to gladly take action. The bigger your inspiration, the greater your level of motivation.
