By:Trevor Johnson

It's normal to feel lethargic from time to time. Everyone gets tired and feels as though they have no strength to do any. But sometimes it can get worse than just feeling a little tired every so often and this is when a person experiences lethargy. Lethargy can leave a person reluctant to do anything and this just gets worse. Anyone who feels like this needs to know how to stop lethargy in its tracks.

One way of doing this is to try to be more active. This may seem like an odd thing to do if you feel tired, but it does work. By upping your activity levels you can actually give your body a boost of energy. Which is exactly what anyone suffering from lethargy needs.

Another way to stop lethargy is to look at your diet. If it is full of processed foods, high in sugar and fat it can lead to tiredness and lethargy. So make sure that you are eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and drinking plenty of water.

Altering your routine can also make a difference. Many people who feel lethargic are this way because they not getting enough sleep. So get to bed at a reasonable time and aim to have at least 7-8 hours sleep each night.

Sometimes a person can feel lethargic if they are depressed. If you suspect that this is the case you should visit the doctor to discuss how you are feeling. Anyone suffering from depression can be relieved of their lethargy by taking the correct medication.
