Lessons & Classroom Games for Teachers
Of the four language skills, listening has been sadly neglected. students develop a certain degree
of proficiency in reading, writing and speaking but not in listening.
Their listening comprehension usually lags behind . They lack the ability to comprehend the spoken language.
Why? because many classrooms are still devoted entirely to the exercises in the text book and most,
teachers have little time to prepare additional materials . I n other words , an effort must be made to get the students and the teachers noses out of the text book and into the active learning / teaching process.
